This is my old tank that has been sitting in the storage room for how many years. Now, I used it again and this time I am taking care of smaller fishes (I used to have a knife fish).

Are those Auratus in there with community fish?

I think so. That could be a problem down the line. :thud:

(But I'm no expert on African cichlids.)

Could be? It will be. Auratus are the most aggressive Melanochromis (next to Chipokae), and possible one of the most aggressive mbuna. They will destroy your plants, as well as your other fish.

Yes they are Auratus. So far, they haven't killed any of my serpae or molly but I never thought it can be deadly to my plants. Actually the deadliest I have is my small crab :D

35 gallon tank
4 Auratus
4 Serpae
1 small crab
1 dalmatian molly (almost a year old already)
4 orange guppy
plus plants
