My Betta Died

My cousin died in a car accident last week so I didn't make it to work. I figured ruby could fast for a week. It looks like he didn't make it. His state of decay seemed quite evolved, like it happened a lot earlier than a week. Basically my first betta lasted 5 months on the job. I think my fiance's mother had him in the kitchen freezing his butt off for another 6 months. I need a new one. Does anybody know of a reputable place to get bettas? I'd like to get one that at least looks healthy. The ones at the fish stores are usually in poor condition.

I'm in Maryland, USA. I made a trip to the fish store and surprisingly they had one that caught my eye. I found a healthy purple one with really nice fins. The fins hang like flames and have darker purple specs on them.

Hopefully I can make it longer than 5 months with this one.
