Hi All
I am haveing a problem with my betta fish (Spike) I noticed he was not as active as he usally is and tonight i noticed that his long beautiful tail has all curled up and is turning brown can anyone help me with this problem as soon as possible and tell me if he is going to die . I am going to be so upset if i lose him , I want to keep him as long as i can

Can you tell us a bit more about his living space? What size tank? What temperature? How often do you do water changes? Filtration? Do you know your water parameters - ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?

Sounds like he might be developing fin & tail rot. I have a betta that has fin & tail rot and his fins turned brownish black on the ends & curled a little before they started to shred. Look for tears, pin holes or fin damage & if you see any one of those then it is fin & tail rot which is due to poor water quality or stress, etc. Start doing frequent water changes, removing poop & uneaten food, & start dosing with Melafix (Walmart sells it along with every pet/fish store). Treat him early & he should live. Good luck!
