This betta is the best fish I have ever had, and I don't know what else to do for him because I'm afraid we might lose him

Our whole tank (except our mollies) wound up with these white bumps all of them more concentrated on the head & fins. We treated them with ick medicine, as directions described with follow up dosing (including all necessary water changes) didn't work. So we tried another medication that treated ick & fungus with still no change (still doing necessary water changes). I tried adding aquarium salt at a .3% still nothing. I've tried waiting to see if after all of the treatments if the fish would clear up, but instead I lost a catfish and all of my cardinals. The last thing we've tried is a medication that treats parasites & bacterial infection when I saw mini/very short worm like/string like things off of these bumps.. The rest of my fish have gotten healthy but my betta is getting worse. The strings went away but now along with all of the whites spots (and they are everywhere on him including his eyes), he has a gray patch on his side. I've been checking ph, ammonia and nitrate level & all is fine. He is very sluggish and not eating. What is wrong, and what can I do? I can't get a good pic of him, but these spot are very noticable. Keep in mind we have I think they're called pop belly mollies, sail fin mollies, platies, fancy tailed guppies, a cory cat, a bristle nose plecko, ghost shrimp, and a rainbow shark (all are fine and well now). Thank you so much!

If you havent tried already...

Turn the heat up 86f. for 10 days. Even if his spots go away
keep the heat high. If you see any labored breathing add an
air stone.

Do another 50% water change and add 2-3 tbs of aquarium
salt to each 5gal. Make sure the salt is disolved in the water
before you add it. Maintain this salt with any water change you
do for the 10 days you have the heat up.

If your fish has ick, this will kill it and all of the ick in your tank.
Good luck!

Thank You!

I have been doing what you suggested since you first replied. My betta seems to be doing so much better! The spots are off of his head now, he still had some on his body but mostly it's only left on his fins but I'm sure that will come in time. He started swimming around almost immediatley after we started the treatment! That was a big improvement since before that he was laying on the bottom on his side. Now if I can get him to start eating again, I think all will be well!

I can't thank you enough for saving him! He's the sweetest fish & the fish with the most personality in the tank. He's come along way. We bought him from out of those "cups" they sell Betta's in, so he had a hard time at first being around other fish. He had become very social, and even comes to the top of the tank wanting petted. (That & my 4 year old daughter wanted him -so we really bought him for her & she would have been heart broken if her fish had died.) I can't say thank you enough!
