My Betta rescue

they can see each other if they are both right up to the mesh. I twas running just 2 10 gal rated HOB I think one got sand in the intake and has crapped out. I'm gonna let it dry and take it apart and see whats up. I want to add a few tall sword plants or something along the back.

What can I do to make my Bettas look brighter and happier?

Plants will def make them happier... Swords will get too large, I'd recommend dwarf sag which is low light. When young it's like short grass, but can reach 6-10" tall. There's also java fern to attach to your wood. crypts & aponogeton crispus are also great. All you'd need is a fert root tab once every few months.

They may also color up with live/frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc.

we bought a baby brine shrimp hatchery kit thing today, will they eat those?

We got a light that will support plant growth, I wanted to grow out the swords in there, I'm treating the 55 for ich and don't want to add plants. I figured grow them in the 10 and when the ich treatment is done move them

As far as I know, bettas love baby brine shrimp! They are esp. good for baby betta. They are small, but my betta have happily eaten daphnia which are about the same size.

Good idea about growing the swords in your 10g and having the 55 to move 'em later! I love swords but don't have the space for one!

Well the sea monkeys are in the hatchery :)
