Setting up my Betta's little bungalo. :D What do you think so far? Yeah, the crypts are just melted little stumps... but they hold within them GREAT PROMISE... or at least hopefully some fresh green shoots here in a week or so. ^__^;; Humor me, I'm out of money so all I have to run off of is raw ambition and my dreams of having at least moderate success with my first planted aquarium.

The first pick illustrates what I have in there at-present. The drawing is the sketch of what it will hopefully look like in the end. The ludwigia was a 'freebie' sent to me with my shipment, so it was an unexpected surprise I decided to incorporate. I love the dark driftwood. My flame moss is really gonna pop with such a dark backdrop to work from!!

Here's another view of if from farther back without the flash. It's a little murky because I just settled the plants in.

(for those of you who have been folowing my story-line with this tank, this was on Tuesday... before my realisation about my snails)

I might tuck some java fern behind the anubias coffe to help buffer the current some and provide it with some algae-reducing shade. It wasn't in the plan to have java fern, but the lady who sold me the snails offered to send me some gratis because of the snail issue I came across.

She may also send me a small red ramshorn, since it will stay smaller than the apple snails and therefor fit better with my 5-g.

Either that, or just bulk up the coffe plant with two more whenever I can afford them and just delegate the java fern to my 10-gallon. Decisions decisions!! :D

Very nice Nice Drawing Btw.

I thought it came out kinda 'blah'... markers are not my preferred medium. I sketched it on a half a piece of paper. The drawing itself is about 3x3 or so, so I wasn't able to put much detail and the fish were added in as an afterthought. Another reason I don't like marker/pens... too permanent. :P

Reineckii?? *looks* Hmmm..... If that's the case, then HOORAY!! Something I can actually work with!! :bday:

As for the ramshorn, she tells me she keeps them in her planted fry tank and she's never seen them eat plants. I don't know enough about snails to say anything either way. She's offline now and she was going to ship everything tomorrow. If I end up with the snail, it's not like I don't have other tanks to place him in if he gets nippy with my flora. :P
