My Brevis Kavala

hehehe yeah thats a good one.. Hey Alex i don't know man but all of the brevis i got from them doesn't have the yellow bellies maybe they were eating the yellow high liters laying around..

lol maybe it's the glow in the dark chemicals sipping down from indian point :D

Very nice group of shellies, ibr3ak!

Thanks man :)

how many are in that little tank, could i put like 5 in a 10 gallon 1male 4 females

I have 6 juvies in it now, waiting for a pair to form, then I'll only leave that pair in the tank.

My tank is a 10gal cut in half, so the footprint is the same. I wouldn't do more than a single pair, I've read that with some boundaries you could do 2 pairs in a 10gal, since brevis's territory is minimal, but no personal experience yet. My supposed females show aggression towards each other, so it might be a problem keeping multiple females.

Yeah i wonder if they didn't give you the Kavala's and they actually gave you the Lamprologus Brevis Kitumba orange bellies instead..

Nice shellies!

could you have more females

Hey ibr3ak, maybe Pitt is right; check this pic. I like this variant more than the Kavala.

Lamprologus brevis Kitumba

those look like a cross betweem the "ikola sunspots" and the brown tiger striped ones.

omg. who even started this brevis mess lol. its like the new fad or something.........

They are not a cross, Austin. But they do look like "sunspot" brevis with stripes and brighter color.

Those look cool, but different from what I have, mine are alot lighter and don't have the brown tips on the end of fins.

Kavala pics are really hard to find on the webs for some reason, the only ones of a pair I found on the shelldweller forum show a female with a yellow belly, is why I assumed it. idk I guess I'll just let them grow out and see if all of them get that belly.
