My brother got a betta from petco..well..I got it for him cuz I felt bad fer the fish gettin cooped up in there. So I got him a betta kit.
So there is a small fish tank..prolly half a gallon, and some gravel and a fake plant.
I KNOW ABOUT CYCLING AND THE STUFF!!!!
He was begging for it. so I got food. the kit, and the fish, so we get home, have some leftover room temperature water that has had tap water conditioner in it, so I add that, then I put the decorations in, then the fish, then I add some water, half of the betta's tank worth of water from my fuly cycled and set up krib tank. It has bacteria in it-it came from the gravel- and I htink he will be fine.
Any suggestions?
O-man

As has been said on other forums, the water is not what should be used to cycle a tank. Exchange the gravel with some from your Krib tank.

While I admire your compassion for the Betta, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never buy fish because you feel sorry for them in their sub-standard conditions. This only encourages retailers to keep the fish that way, since it is obviously profitable to do so if Good Samaritans buy from them.

Enjoy your Betta, but be careful with the feeding and EXTRA-vigilant with the water changes, as 1/2-gallon is not much space.

Okay, O-man21, I apologize. I misinterpreted your post and assumed the worst...so please accept my humble apologies.

Promised fish pictures

sorry, messed up. Please help: how do I post pictures (digital) to the forum? Tried to click on insert an image and didn't understand what to do.

First, you need to post them on the internet. I use picture trail. It is very easy to use. Once you post the pics there, you right click on one, go to "properties" and copy the url address. Then, on the area above where you write your message(back at AC), you click on the button "IMG" and paste the address.
