My budget 20 gallon long Tank

I am trying not to spend much money on this tank. I put most of my aquarium money into buying fish for my 120 gallon FW. This is my first SW aquarium. Here is what i spent.

20 lbs. crayola purple sand- $7
petco hydrometer/thermometer combo- $4
walmart blacklight and white aquarium light bulb- $15
aqua clear filter- $20
petco heater- $17
11 lb. live rock- $44
50 gallon instant ocean super clearance- $6
old powerhead- N/A

i tried to do it as cheaply as I could. Live rock is ridiculous.

i've never seen sand like that, is it marine safe?

my fish is healthy. i think it is. im going to add more live rock as soon as I can

you have fish in there? how long has the tank been running? i would not add any more fish until you have most of the LR you'd like to have as adding more could cause a mini-cycle. the tank was cycled initially, right?

ok that's good. but again you do need to be careful about adding LR to a cycled tank. have you looked into local marine clubs? i know through the club in my area there is always someone breaking down a tank and selling rock for cheap. you can check craigslist too.
