My CBRS

Nice i'm currently trying to get some CRS to go along with my cherries. Once you get your breeding program started you can sell them for a great price on aquabid. Oh yeah and they don't really need water that's too acidic as long as you can get it below 7.4 or so. A friend of mine has some that are breeding in 7.6 so yeah anythings possible!

CRS and RCS have different water parameter requirements, but as you say, anything is possible. The problem is when you have both in one tank and it isn't working out. Then, you have to be willing to separate them and start up a new tank.

Even if it's berried that's still a lot to pay for it. You aren't even guaranteed a certain number of babies will hatch let alone survive. I'd take my chances with 10 juvies rather than 1 berried female.

In a few months these shrimp probably won't even be around. I see silica sand as the subtsrate and it's pretty well known that a soil like ADA Amazonia is practically necessary to get the water where it needs to be for these shrimp to live. I wouldn't be shocked at all if they start to kick the bucket within 2 weeks.
WOW we have an optimist among us :)
She is very pretty

The shrimp are doing well. The tiny ones are getting big and the adults are gorgeous and active. Still alot of berries but I don't think I have any that hatched.

Good to hear. Maybe you will have some more shrimp fry soon. They generally take 4 weeks to hatch at 74 degrees in my experience.

Just an update, I have baby shrimps! OMG! They are so tiny you would not believe it. I have counted three so far and I am hoping there are more in the plants. I still have all but one of the original CRS so I am thinking things are going pretty well. I am doing the happy dance now!

That's great Jacki, so glad it worked out. I remember the first time I saw newly born baby crs's I was amazed by how little they were.

Awesome Jacki!!!
