My chinese algae eater killed my angelfish

No, the original fault is yours, CAEs become protein eaters as they mature. They shouild have been removed long ago before the situation arose. You brought the fish home, it is your responsibilty and the balme is yours, not the fish which were only doing what they do in the wild. If you do not know what to do, ask. If you don't care about torturing a fish for being true to its nature, you do not belong in the hobby or on this forum. Taking out your anger and frustration on a fish is a highly intelligent thing to do.

I don't know why everyone is so upset, if anyone should be upset it should be me. I lost my prized angelfish which was bigger than the size of my hand as well as plenty of other fish. If I had left the chinese algae eater in the tank any longer, even overnight, I bet it would have killed even more fish. And besides, it's not worth the time or effort to me to go to the local fish store to return it.

first off i dont know why i'm wasting time...but...

it would be worth it to goto your LFS and get a trade in, i'm sure 3 larger SAE would have maybe even gotten you another angel fish, i know my store is very helpful in that manner

and second by flushing them that is not justice, as stated before...you put them in that tank and they just acted on their instincts, whatever it's all done, i sure hope you feel good wasting money, my advice: buy an oscar :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

Well I just came back to notice a dead swordtail and a dead guppy sitting at the bottom of my aquarium. Both have red marks on their bodies indicating injuries, and theres only one culprit (actually 3).

Here is how I solved my problem:

Only one can be seen in the picture, the other two swam down...

Wow, you're a sick puppy. Not only did you kill your fish in a fit of pique, you came on here to gloat about it in front of people you knew it would upset.

That kind of behavior is pathological. I recommend you seek professional psychiatric help. Definite signs of psychotic behavior. I feel bad for your family and people who deal with you on a regular basis, and yes, I feel bad for you. :(

You are right...the others probably would have been dead....and, most likely, it's your own fault....there is something obviously going wrong in your tank, probably due to poor maintenance...The algae eaters might have killed the angel, and even the guppy..but NOT the swordfish..that is, if he was healthy...he would have been too fast..they were more than likely just finishing off dying fish or munching on fish that were dead already....I wouldn't be worried about getting more fish, but, rather, understanding how to keep the ones you still have alive. Graphic designer is right...you need help....there is a direct correlation with animal abuse and sociopathic tendencies.

seriously, you're the biggest idiot, you don't deserve to have pets. It was your fault to put them together, not the fish's fault. If you put little goldfish in with a tank of piranhas, would it be the piranha's fault for eating them?

Couldn't you have at least seperated them? i'm sure you have a bucket or something laying around that you can use for now to seperate them.

Well whatever, there's no point trying to convince you what you did was wrong.
