Hi all,
Thanks for your quick response on my pics.
Im worried now, just seen the bit about Tilapia Buttikoferi.
Did a google image search and yes, it matches up. If they can grow to about 12", will they be alright with my frontosa's?
You say they are aggressive? I have 3 .
Does it look like I may have to split the tankmates up as they grow, if so which ones are likley to need splitting?

When I get time I will look at the other comments.

what size tank are they in & what do you have available for them ?

They are in a juwel 180 which is about 3.5ft long x15"wide x 15"high.
I dont have anything at the moment available. They are about 3/4" long at the minute.

the 180 litres (about 46 US Gallons) is going to be far to small for the frontosa and the buttikoferi...to keep them you would need something way bigger...about 70/90 or more gallons for frontosa, which despite their size are actually pretty timid aquarium fish which are easily stressed by far smaller more active/aggressive types.

I don't know how the buttikoferi would affect the front(s) (btw they prefer groups of four plus of their own kind - the fronts)

125 is minimum for a colony of Fronts.

^ I would take tarheels advice on that one - they very much do prefer to be kept in groups.
