My Cichlids are dying

Thanks Lupin,
You are right, cant find those product in australia, what about metronidazole will that be ok? I can order off ebay?
There is no way to be certain what parasites are causing your problems hence I suggested levamisole hydrochloride in the first place which can cover plenty of parasites including nematodes. Metronidazole is worth a try though but does not cover a lot of parasites anyway.

metronidazole(metro) is effective on a number of parasites..it is however, ineffective on camillanus, capillaria(both seen often in SA cichlids)
Praziquantel (prazi)is another med commonly available and is also effective on some parasites.

Levamisole Hcl may not be available (easily) outside the US.
you may i want to inquire on Flubendazole or Fenbendazole too..
Veterinarians may be a source you can inquire with too.
it is possible that you may be seeing the effects of one of the flagellated protozoa(many of which are treated with metro and prazi

i dont know what the problem is but i find if the ph in my cichlid tank gets below around 7.5 they start to slow down and are not energetic i don't know what it does to them but they don't like it i keep mine above 8. i am in alice springs and our water ph is naturally 8 so i am lucky i guess i don't need ph up or down

Use Crushed Coral Substrate.
