Maybe but my LFS is usually pretty good about this stuff. My LFS (The Wet Spot) bred them so I trust they have them correctly ID'd. It's a juvenile so his coloring is still pretty bland. Especially since a Uaru would probably be more expensive than a severum.

Yeah you have a Uaru Amphiacanthoides 100%, I keep both fish. You will enjoy it more than a severum anyway so nice score. Nice score on a Uaru for the price of a severum! :cool:

I am supprised the wet spot would sell that as a severum. It can happen though. I cherry plucked a female Rotkeil severum for $3.95 because it was listed as a green. I go there every weekend.

I suspected right away it wasn't a severum but didn't know any better and since The Wet Spot is usually pretty good about that stuff just thought I was wrong. Good score though for $5.95 as far as I can tell.

Of course it is also possible that the juvie uaru's and juvies spotted sevs where in the same tank and the girl grabbed the wrong one and I didn't notice.....

Not your fault at all, the last time they had juvie Uaru, they also had juvie Heros Rotkeil and Heros Notatus (both severums difficult to ID when young) in the same tanks, far right tanks on the left room. I would be almost certain that the gal grabbed the wrong fish, they have two "new" ladies working there recently that are not pros like Anthony.

FYI, I paid $24 for the last Uaru I bought there, so you came out ahead. ;) Now just cross your fingers you can go back and get Uaru Fernandezyepezi :bowing: for the same price lol...

Now that I really think about it that was most definitely the case.
