my clowns, the prison guards

I was thinking that J. doesn't need much time to escape. So any in tank "cage" should work for a couple hours. How about a milk container with holes?
When your clowns are mad at you, just show them it was my idea. And if you have a good hole puncher, the cage can look pretty nice. Then may be they won't be so mad.

im thinking your egg crate idea is a good one. i may just be able to make a "wall" between the nem and the hole. the clowns would still be able to come around the front of the tank but i doubt they would, they really don't wander far from the nem. with the wall up jupiter can safely get out, and when he does im sticking a shell into that hole!

Silly clowns. Its funny how some of the smaller fish can totally try to dominant the tank. Once they age and become bold though it is a bit hard to get them to settle down even if you do move them. I remember moving my clown from my 10G into my 35G. I felt bad for her at first since everyone in the tank was settled in. But she wasted no time following everyone around and claiming her spot.

That is so true. In my 75, the GS Maroons are the largest of the 12 fish and dominate the tank. Smallest or largest, clowns, for the most part, will dominate a tank.

If worse comes to worse feed jupe like you would a needy Coral with a turkey baister right by his home and that way maybe you could be a little more sure he is getting food. good luck

well tonight i fed jupiter some mysis shrimp via feeding tongs - boy was he hungry! the clowns were mad and stealing as much of the food as they could (big fat pigs, i had just fed them!) but jupe definitely got a good amount. hopefully i'll get around to putting up the wall soon and i can get to see this beautiful fish!

awwww, he's going to be all in love with you by the time he gets out! Just like my little citron goby is now. I had to coax him to eat and chased him with the turkey baster at first, now he rushes to the turkey baster and even to my hand and nips at me and every time I'm at the tank, he gets as close to where I'm standing as he can and attaches himself to the glass and watches me. It's SO cute!

Kindof makes you want to smack those clowns around a little, I bet. And your thread here is making me really think hard about whether I want a pair of maroons in my 125 I'm setting up. Actually, I just saw some Pink Skunk clowns in person the other day and fell in love with them. I wonder if they're as mean as the maroons.

alright well today the wall went up! it seems to be working pretty well to keep the clowns on the nem side, they do slip over and shove jupiter back in his hole still but for the most part they are leaving him alone!

now i just have to catch jupiter out of the hole so i can block it with something so he can't get back in there! it will be so much easier when he picks out a spot on the other side of the tank!
