It has not fed (will not trigger either) for a couple of months).
I was going to wait til I depot it for dorancy in the fridge to examine the roots.

I'm no expert on VFTs by any means. My first guess is that the consistently high temps and humidity is putting too much stress on them, especially since it is getting closer to dormancy season. Remember that they are temperate plants.

Another issue may be the media could be compacting too much. I've got mine in a 1:1 peat/perlite mix.

I would check in at http://www.terraforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=87 which is the VFT subforum or terraforums. It's a great CP community with a lot of knowledgeable members.

No, no animal(s) in there. But I have added a driftwood branch as a fallen log with some live spanish moss. the S. Moss is really taking off ... almost taking over. I need to trim it back because now One cannot see the water fall for the hanging Moss. :)
