Hi all....

I have a very well established tank (about 6 months) with the following fish;

2 Zebra Danios (was 3, one died):-(
3 Pearl Danios
2 Dwarf Gouramis (Soon to go to the LFS)
3 Platys
2 Corys

I bought 3 of the Bronze Corys from my LFS the other day, But on the next day I lost one (He was dead on his side) I went back to the LFS explained the situation and they gave me another one free, This evening I found onje swiming really starngely, and he was swiming around In kind of 'Circles' going upside down, So I killed him (To put him out of his misery) I now have two Bronze corys in my tank, who constantly side swipe the gravel and rocks....

Please can anyone give me some advice??? My water quality is fine at 0 PPM Ammonia and 0 PPM Nitrie, also with low Nitrates 10 PPM!!!

Hope anyone can help??

Cheers
Dan

Ask them this...

I just thought of a good question to ask the LFS whenever you buy fish and the question is how long have these fish been in your tank?? Maybee its just a bad batch or maybee there tank is prone to some kind of bacteria ....

Keep us posted on your remaining corys ususally if they can survive a week or two then there in for the long haul

Hey

My other two corys seem to be really happy In the tank today, I feel really guilty about what I did to the other one :-( But he was suffering so I did What I suppose was correct..

I went to the LFS where I bought the corys from today and had a good look in all there tanks, I was absolutely DISGUSTED when I found about 10 dead corys In the SAME tank my corys came from!!! I really wish that LFS's would treat there fish with care, Wether a 60 pence Danio, or a £20 Parrot Fish!!!

Cheers,

Dan

Woah. 10 dead fish in a tank is disgraceful! The worst I've heard of in fact. In future I'd take my business elsewhere.
I'd think you'd be lucky if the other two corys are well enough to survive. I only hope they're not carrying something that could effect the rest of your tank, and that if they do survie, they are not permanently damaged. Do you have a quarantine tank?

Hi!

The only other tank I have is a three footer with a flying fox and pleco, which Is currently being stocked..

I am very reluctant to put fish In there from my two foot incase all the fish are infected....

I must say, It's been a good few days and no other corys or fish have died, so I am hoping that maybe I shouldn't lose anymore..

Cheers
