Just thought I'd post and share a pic of the re-scaped tank. Once our camera recharges I'll see if I can get a better picture, this one's not very clear.
A while ago I realized that I was getting too busy to be trimming stems every week - it was getting very labour intensive to try and keep the tank looking decent and prevent the Hygro and Rotala from shading everything else. During the first week of June I moved all the Crypts from the 14g into the big tank, tossed all the stems (some are still living in the QT) and went Crypt crazy! The entire tank floor is nothing but Crypts, and they're settled in and growing well after about six weeks in the tank.
The only other types of plant are my sickly, horrid looking Java fern (mostly disintigrating leaves and about a zillion plantlets) and some Anubias which are finally coming into their own - higher PO4 seems to be keeping the green spot algae at bay and the new leaves look great.
The Crypts in the tank ATM are:
C. wendtii green
C. wendtii brown
C. wendtii 'Tropica'
C. undulata
C. willisii
C. willisii 'Lucens'
I'm hunting for C. balensae to give some height to the left side of the tank.
Feel free to comment, make suggestions, etc. Enjoy
