There doesn't seem to be a lot of good info out there about nitrifying bacteria products. So I thought I would share my experience with these two products.

I was cycling /w fish when i started these, and my ammon/nitrite levels were both rising.

Nitromax - it stinks. I did have a noticeable drop in nitrite levels after using this stuff. But it had no effect on ammonia.

Cycle - worked great, my tank was fully cycled a week after a single application. I just poured a cap full right onto my bio-wheel and done.

so hope someone finds this useful ...

What where your conditions when you added the cycle? How long had you been attempting to cycle before that?

Even Bio-Spira, which contains the actual bacteria that forms in an aquarium, typically does not cycle a tank in under 2 weeks. I find it almost impossible that cycle, which doesn't contain these bacteria, would be able to cycle an aquarium in a week.

the tank was a month and half old when it finally cycled, but i still think the product had a dramatic effect.

Rather than trying to describe my levels to you, i kept a spreadsheet of my water tests (ridiculous i know)
