My developed mafia/fish game

Ok, so I put some thought into this the last couple days andhere is what I have. Not exactly organizing one right now just gauging interest to see if anyone would be interesed, I know the like 150 or 200 are already booked, but maybe in the future this one can be ran.

Groups: (Based on 20 players)


Trout - (11 players) These are the innocents. The majority of people will be trouts.

Shark (1 player) - This is the leader of the good guys, only he does not know who they all are. He has veto power ever night to decide who is going to be offed. Although he does not have to use his veto everynight, it is at his discretion wether or not he feels an innocent trout is going to be killed, so he can substitue any other player in their place. If he does use his veto power it will be noted that it was used, though the sharks identity will not be given away.

Salmon (3 players) - The salmon are a small group of inocents who know who each other are and are allowed to discuss things with each other outside of the thread.

Fishermen (4 players) - These are the bad guys trying to catch the innocents. They know who each other are. They are in a boat floating on the river/lake looking for the innocents.

Boat Navigator (1 Player) - The head of the fisherman. He knows these waters as well as the shark does, and knows where to lead his team in order to catch the best fish.

Everyday the fisherman make a decision as to 1 fish they want to catch.

Everyday the fish vote as to who they think the fisherman are and the person with the most votes will be killed off and have their identity revealed, unless of course the shark steps in and veto's.

There will also be 2 random deaths throughout the game at no particular time. 1 random death with be a fish that gets ich, the other will be a fisherman who tried for a fish that was a little to big and got pulled into the river/lake.

I was thinking the same thing, JPap. Perhaps if the shark had investigative abilities...and could veto maybe just once or so?

I dont know i think the shark is balanced mainly because he could be wrong, and the doubt in his mind will prob keep them in control. Unless u get a crazy person who always think they are right. giving him investigative powers would make him to powerful.

My only thought are on the random deaths. if the random death is a mafia or durning the final part of the game it could win the game for either side. Winning/loosing because of a random death sucks.

Maybe you could mod game 10 as Rb is doing 8 and I'm doing 9.

9 is going to be awesome....

Just with the shark, there would be times when voting is useless and the discussions from that day would be void because no lynching means no new info. I think giving him investigative powers and maybe one veto would be fine. Kind of like a presidential dectective...:)
