My DIY 125 Stand Build, Lots of Pics

Well the rock has been rearranged and it is up and running/cycling now:woot:! So the wait begins! Man that FX5 is super quiet! Water is cloudy in the pics but it cleared a day later. I will be getting some different bulbs though, the 3500k that came with the fixtures are too yellow. I'm thinking of mixing 8000k and 50/50's, but I need to research more. I have a cycled AC20 on a 10g that I can use the media from, but my sword is expecting. I'm debating putting the sword in or using the media for a jump start and deal with sword fry another time(god knows there will be plenty of those).

Nice work , looks good dragger !!!!!!!

Thanks again. I took the sponges from the AC20 and stuffed them into the 110. So hopefully that will help kick start the cycle.

Thanks Canuck. Cycling is progressing well, with a small amount of seeding from an AC20, 4-5pmm ammonia is gone in a week. 2nd stage should take a bit more though.

Thanks again. I meant to post these comparison pics before, but I was at a 40th party yesterday and I'm still a little foggy:evil_lol:! Anyway, I redid the lighting a bit. I swapped out 2 of the 3500k bulbs(T5), one in each 3' fixture, for 2 full spectrum daylight bulbs from a LFS. I'm guessing they're 10,000k because they are actually reptile bulbs because the LFS lighting section was a scrambled mess. I was about to give up when I found these. I compared the spectrum graph to the ones from the aquarium bulbs there and they seemed to match the 10,000k bulbs. What do you think? It definately changes the look. I'm kicking around changing the other 2 to a 50/50, but I'm not sure. The first 3 are the old lighting, last 4 new. Opinions?

The new bulbs look much better. I used to use 10,000k bulbs over my cichlid tank, they bring out the colours of the fish much better.
