I have an aquaclear 30 that ive had for a few years ill be using in my 40g and i recently bought in intank Fluval 3plus. Has anyone owned this type of filter and is effective? any problems?

I have used an internal Fluval filter in a 20 gallon tank. it does filter quite well but I wasn't really fond of having to pull it out to clean because my tank was in a somewhat awkward place to access. The flow was pretty good considering the size of the pump but if not cleaned frequently it will clog up and decrease the flow a lot. I tried it in my turtle tank to see how it would do and wasn't surprised that it stopped the flow in a few hours. I'd say to add as a second source of filtration on a 40 gallon (espiecally near the bottom) would be a great idea. Personally I would go with a bigger aquaclear also, like the AQ 50.
Yah i was curious about the 30 because it is quite small. i had it in a smaller tank before with just cory's and a spotted clown pleco. I really wanted the in tank for the 40 though cause ive always ran into troubles with cleaning the bottom and it getting messy to quick( I wasnt the best fish owner then though ).
Yeah, I have the 1+, its not a bad filter, but I prefer my Duetto 100 Filter if we are comparing filters.
i have fluval 4+, 3+ and 2+ in my tanks, and i love them, ive tried many different filters but these are my favourites, quiet, and efficient. easy to clean, though if they are in a sand bottom tank i have found they can be very difficult to dismantle, other than that they are definately the filter of my choice.
so fluval's are fully submerge able with no problems? like I can stick 'er right in my tank and not have to worry to much?
Yep, I would try and find a spot that is easy to get to so your maintenance isn't a big pain.
