it will clear up overnight regardless of filter or not. nice rock setup tho. what store do u go to in nyc if ur from nyc

Yes, it will give you assurance that it can handle the bioload of what you add in the future.

Have you added an ammonia source to the tank? If your using the live rock from an established tank, there will be none or very little die off..so, i would suppliment this with a raw shrimp or prawn..and the cycle will start pretty soon as a source is available..

Leave it in until it hits around 4-5ppm.
