My Apisots have laid eggs!!!!

They're in a community tank, and there is a clown plec in there....



How long will it take for the eggs to hatch?

yeah...thats what i'm worried about...however woke up this morning and they're still there!

Apistos are Cichlids and will become aggressive protecting the eggs and the spawn after they hatch. They will look after the fry and show some stunning colors while doing it. The length of time depends on how safe they feel the area is. I have had Cichlids spawn in a species tank and threes weeks after the spawn was free swimming they stopped guarding the brood since there were no threats in the tank. Now I have a tank filled with young Krebs and thier parents.

Good luck and you should have some fun watching these little parents interact with thier young.
