So I was looking at this bookcase I got at Ikea in my room. It was looking bare because all I have on it is the junk I empty from my pockets. So I said to myself " Self you need a fish tank to fill up all that real estate." So, I made a trip down to my local TAP Plastics and ordered up a tank. The dimenstions to the tank is 60"x8"x12" it should hold about 24 gallons and fill up the dead real estate real well. It will have black back and sides.

I have 2 x 48" 2 lamp T5 fixtures so I will have plenty of lighting.

My dilemma now is:

Fish?
Plants?
Filtration?

Wee fun :)

does the tank size give u enough room to open lid and feed the fish and do matinence?

interesting dimensions. If i did my maths right you should be just under 25 gallons.

Neat! If it were my tank I would go for a low-tech planted tank with some low-bioload critters, maybe cherry red shrimp and some small livebearers. A sponge filter would be all you really need; even that would be unnecessary if you plant heavily.

HTat is great :D . With a 24 you could get an oscar and a red snakehead ;) . Nah, you have quite a few options, perhaps a nano fish tank?

a small school of rummy nose tetra's?

Alarge school of rummies in a planted tank looks great...

Well, TAP plastics called me today to pick up my tank. Here it is with 48" T5 lights on it. Going to let it cure for a few days then start setting it up :)
