my first frog paludarium or terrarium.

mines pretty much just stopped growing. i can trim it when it gets too big but would it be a good plant for the frogs or should i choose somthing else?

Well actually plants will never stop growing. Given poor light levels, they will slow simply because the lack of photosynthesis prevents them from being able to produce new growth. When light levels increase they will take off. They are safe for frogs if that's what you are concerned about but will get big. I recently pulled all of my vines out of my 40 because they took over! IMO plants don't seem big in your house, but once you put them in a little glass box, they are a lot bigger!

I think in your situation the plants are going to be more for your benefit. Any plant that provides a structure large enough to support a frog is going to need to be fairly big. I would just get some driftwood and such and make a climbing structure and then use plants for viewing and decorations. With the broad leaves of the pothos vine, the frogs will find a way to sit on them and do what frogs do but the actual stem does not offer much room for climing.

i dont have a big budget so the pothos might be the best choice with some branches and such. when i upgrade ill probably do bamboo and other tall plants. i dont suppose a wooden tank would work would it? probably hard to keep humidity up though. would buying some plexi glass and siliconing it together be a less expensive way to build a tank instead of buying one?

I sispect rotting would be an issue in a wooden tank. Maybe look into plywood tanks? That would likely be the best way to do a woden tank but it would require some skill to make the outside look good IMHO. So are you planning on building a new tank now? If you are still turning the 10, then yes plexiglass is by far cheaper than a whole new tank but if you are going to try to make a new tank, go with glass rather than plexi. Plexi is weak and tends to warp without enough support. There are ways to get around this but likely wouldn't look so great.

how much does glass usually cost? id want a tank 30 inches long 21 inches high and 18 inches deep. and im not turning a 10 gallon im turning a 20 gallon long.

Rates of glass vary by location. When I made the divider for my 40, I think I spent like $30 for a 36" by 12" piece and since I got it at Lowes, they cut it free of charge. Maybe call a local hardware store and add up the price of glass and the price of silicone as well as any other materials needed and then compair that to a new tank. Craigslist may also have some so maybe check there too. And, yes I meant 20. Slip of the finger.

yea id better check craigs that totally slipped my mind. i have the money to buy like a 20 gallon high, but i was going to spend that on some blue pearl shrimp. ill have about 11 dollars after buying them so maybe i can bribe someone(just kidding). would a 20 gallon high be ok or should i wait? maybe ill find a 20 gallon for my budget.

I'm not sure that 11 bucks will get you very far... It may get you most of what you'll need to turn the 20 but as far as a DIY or even used tank... You'll have to get pretty darn lucky.
