My First Planted

Many thanks everyone ;)

Your tank is absolutely lovely. You should indeed enter in AGA's contest.
I got couple of questions too :) first : plants- do you plant them all on the same level or you have some steps in there? I just got the Monosolenium Tenerum yesterday- do you think it could be used to make a moss wall? Would it grow on the wall? How thick is the gravel? (poor english- sorry- I mean how many cm-s high?
and second :) - I think the trick with the riccia balloon was very funny- what ever happened to it? Did it fall apart?
Anyway, your tank makes me jelaous really. It is so, so beautiful.
EDIT: Measurements: 81 x 36 x 50 cm from your first post. Your tank is 36 cm wide and 50 high?
Thanks :) Never seem the M. Tenerum used as a wall, guess it would work, but Pellia tends to grow upwards and grows very very slowly, so you would need plenty of it to start with and make the wall so when it grows upwards it will still look nice, but the problem is it breaks very easy so during water changes you would have a nightmare of a job.
Gravel goes from about 4cm thick at the front to about 6cm at the back.
I gave up on the Riccia it way too high maintnance and its very messy and needs to get redone every 4/5 weeks, the ballon only lasted a couple of weeks, as it grew upwards the inside started rotting away due to lack of light.
Tank is 81cm long/wide, 36cm deep (front to back) and 50cm high.
Again many thanks and good luck with your wall, but I would recommend using moss for that, either weeping, taiwan or xmas mosses.

Thanks Rich311k, lets hope it does, I think the hardscape will stand out more which will be a change, since before it was always hidden.

nice forum! good looking tanks

Hey guys/gals, just another quick update a week after the rescape. Haven't really done much apart from chopping up the moss wall and sending the mosses to a few users and you can see the glosso planted now. Still trying to get some donnoi to create an effect betwen the carpet and the stem plants, going to the LFS this afternoon so will see what they have in stock.

Just have to wait and see how it grows, planted it pretty compact, lets see how it does. First time I am trying this plant.
Also purchased for Apistogrammas, they were too shy yesterday to face the camera, will see if today they come out for some photos. :)

Very nice

Thanks guys :)

Managed to get a few shots of the Apistogramma cacatuoides today, they still a little shy but came out of hiding to eat. So I quickly grabbed the camera and took some shots. Not the best but this will have to do for now, I assume the first is a female and the second is male, I have two of each.
