here anyway lol....

My mother and father have adopted my 125 (moved out, they kept the tank with my 5 angels and various other's.. what can I say, its been 4 years and I love em :) )

Soooo... saving up for another 125!! this time going for a strict Amazonian setup.. well, maybe not TOO strict... but pretty authentic... going to do it right this time..

basic setup: CF light on two stages, total wattage will be around ~600 watts.... and red led's for nocternals. Fully automated Co2 system... kinda homemade, but it will add based on pH, substrate!!!: 50% volcanit base, 25% river, 25% local river sand (sun bleached in my backyard of course...)

filtration: some sort of canister... havent decided yet. but it will basically just be a mech/bio with peat pellets/coral mix.

heat: something lol and maybe even as far as under substrate!!! depending on budget.

anyway... like I said, it will be done right.. Have NO idea what type of plants or fish will it will be home too... yet... but they WILL be south american.. for sure a pair of rams... but other than that... dont know... suggestions?

glad I found yall, glad to be back in the hobby, to take a brake from my other hobbies (competing in IDPA and Skeet, Drag racing.. both EXPENSIVE!!) and I just became watcher of a ball python and kingsnake!!! from VA and ahhhhh life is good!!!

Welcome to the boards. I hope to see an ongoing thread of how your new tank progresses. Sounds like it will be a great setup.

I will.. is a write up in order or even accpetable on a huge forum like this? will it even be appreciated?

Yeah we love to see write-ups and photos! If you really want to get authentic, you can research more about a certain river in the Amazon basin and try to get plants and fish from there (eg. differences between Rio Negro / Rio Solimoes/ Rio Xingu).
