My fish are back!

daniel364

Its not all that bad...
As you may or maynot know i recently had a crack in my tank, during the night wich lead to a complete flood of my bedroom. Anyway cut a long story short i had know where to put my fish so they went to my lfs to keep safe while the bloke ordered another tank....well now they're back minus a few loses...oh what a suprise. it was my two New blue dwarf gourami's  but he did give me a red blood gourami to "make up" for it. im not too sure because:
1.he only gave me one and 2 dies.
2.not sure if its a dwarf or not
3. he says i cannot put no more gourami's with him??hmm

I no this will not please the amercians who posted before saying have a paddy and get something free at all but for some reason words let me down. still, they're back in there old home again.

thanks for all your help my tank is finally back to noramll at last!

Dan

Glad to hear everything is almost back to normal for you.

Red or "flame" gourami are compatable with others of their own species. I have 4 in the same tank with no problems

thats a dwarf flame

He is the same kind as Georgie, my dwarf gourami (see avatar). I wouldn't put two dwarf gouramis together unless one was female--they can be agressive to each other.

I love my d gourami, he is so much fun to watch. He picks up bits of plants and carrys them to the top of the tank and spits them out, and then grabs them again and spits them out--like playing catch. He also builds bubble nests and sometimes even schools with the corys.

mine do. but with angels stay away from barbs and fin nippers too

I would have to agree. I've seen and heard of quite a few gouramis getting beat up by the more dominate one. If I'm not mistaken (someone correct me if I'm wrong), if you have a school of 6 or more, then they are fine. Anything less and they tend to beat each other up unless the tank is loaded with plants (real or fake) and lots of hiding spots.
