last night i took the silver dollars out, and of course the whole tank was going nuts with my net in there, so now if i go sit to watch them, they all disapear into caves and trees, i hope they realize im not a bigger hungry fish! any way to make them love me again? my otto does.. when i put my hand in there, he jumps on for a free ride

they're just stressed out, give them a bit of time and i'm sure they'll be fine.

I agree. Your fish will get used to you in a short while.

I have some zebra danios that used to be afraid of me, but now when I get in there to clean algae off leaves or prune during a water change, I am usually the victim....
.... They bite me! Lol maybe I should feed them more ;P.

People might think such a quick little fish would be hard to catch in a heavily planted tank, but I jst dip in my net and get them usually in the first shot.

Silver dollars, from what I've read, are more skittish than a lot of other fish, so it might take longer, but they will get used to you soon enough.

Lol!

I couldn't help but laugh as I read your post. Fish are real characters aren't they! I'll be joining you with the silver dollars as I'm picking up a few this weekend. Great and beautiful fish, although quite nervous aren't they?!

I use my net so infrequently that my fish don't even know what it is. I try to keep net use to an absolute minimum

After I moved apartments last, it took about 3 weeks for my fish to settle down. Everytime I got close to they tank, they freaked out. But now, they see me as a source of food and swim right to the front of the tank everytime I get close.

Silver Dollars are an excellent fish, but need lots of space..
I used to have them - and they are real fast!
It's always nice to see a large school of them...
