Hello. I have a 29 gallon fish tank.
It is currently stocked with:
2 male guppies
1 platy
4 male mollies
2 danios

I want to add some kind of algea eater. I was thinking maybe a rubbernose pleco? Also I would like some fish that would stay more towards the middle of the tank. Any suggestions would be great. Also, how many more fish can I add, I do not want to get overstocked (that is why I went all male). Hopefully I can make a trip to at least get an algea eater today. The rocks are starting to grow some.
Thanks,
Gretchen

I would look for three Otocinculus catfish instead of a Pleco. They stay small and do a rather nice job of cleaning the algae. Then, I would add 6 pygmy cory catfish. They school, they occupy the bottom to middle of the tank, and they are cute because they stay small.

A rubbernose pleco would be fine in your tank. They are one of the dwarf plecos, so they don't grow very large. I have one myself and I like him, but he can be semi-territorial towards other bottom feeders. They basically just nudge others away from their cave (they need a cave to be healthy).

Good mid level fish IMO are cherry and gold barbs. I really like these fish because on proper varied diets, they grow to display very nice colors, especially the gold barbs. Plus they aren't aggressive like tiger barbs.
