My ghost shrimp died!!!

oK so one of my ghost shrimp died. i changed their water and rinsed the rocks with cool water. i saved some of the original water and put it in theire and saved some rocks that i didnt clean. The ghost shrimp turn see able be for it died. The other one was the same and after a few hours it was starting to fade to normal. My frogs are ok though. I was at a pet store and a 5 gallon mini bowl starter kit cost $70.00 but the EXSACT same one cost 38.00 at walmart. they were the same brands! Green terrors were $10.00 at this other pet store. One was saling this one fish that gets up to 4 feet for $7.00. These fish are really cheap and tiny when their small if i hadnt know better i would of bought paridish fish and stuck them in a tank. Like in a five g for 2 and i would of put other stuff there too. But they were really knowlegable. They told me how big they can get and everything. At walmart the people are like all the gold fish need is a small bowl, or the frogs will be fine in a 1/2 gallon tank. Or if they thopught they could con you into a tank they would be like i think you should get a 2 gallon beacuse blah blah blah.

I'm sure you meant well, but there was about 10 different thoughts rolled out in one small paragraph and combined with the grammar errors, well it is a pretty difficult paragraph to read.

But if you were going for the appearance of someone distraught, well you nailed it!
 
This is funny though!!!! Froggy, when writing in forums you must proof read your sentences to make sure every one can cypher (figure) it out.
As for the ghost shrimp, they are not the hardiest of creature and I believe when molting and if they stress out they turn a lighter visable color. I'm not positive though. What do you mean when you say you saved some of the original water? I hope so or else what were the shrimp siting in? Substrate with no water in the tank? ????

My friends, the very same container, yea, even one that does hold five gallons of water, can be bought from the mega-marketplace for thirty and eight dollars! Folly! These two containers were identical! The minute leviathan known as the "Vert Terrible" sold at the animal market for the amount of ten dollars. Yet another didst sell certain fishes that swelled to four feet before they reached the age of majority and asked only the price of seven dollars. Verily, I say unto you, these fishes are most diminutive at the time you purchase them, both in their size and their cost.

Yea, had I not been a learned individual, I would have purchased the Fish of Paradise, Nay, even two Fishes of Paradise and placed them in a container which holds water only five gallons of water! Were it that I was not a learned person, I would also have put amongst the Paradise fish, in this container that only held five gallons of water, five gallons being the amount it held, even other fishes! Alas, the hawkers of these wet wares were learned and didst give unto me their learning. They didst expound unto me the size these fishes could attain, amongst other things.

When in the mega-marketplace the hawkers may expound unto you, even erroneously, that the fishes of the golden hue need only a small vessel of water in which to live. Or, verily, even they may expound unto you that frogs need only a vessel containing one half of one gallon of water in which to thrive! Alas, be weary, for these hawkers might just deceive you thusly: They may say unto you, yea, even knowing that they should not say such things, that you should purchase for yourslf a container which did hold two gallons of water for the reason... Dear reader, I apologize. I am unable to complete that thought at this point in time.

The ghost shrimp turning visible is not at all uncommon. Are you certain one just didn't molt? When they leave behind their old exoskeleton, it can sometimes look exactly like a dead shrimp would. When you clean rocks and things like that, you can be killing the "cycle" off. Be careful. You didn't mention what size your tank was or what filtration you have.

And yes, the Pet stores are usually more expensive than Wal-Mart or Big Al's online. Wal-Mart deals in volume, so they get deep discounts. I assume this is how Big Al's pulls it off as well. That, and/or Big Al's works out of a huge warehouse with low overhead for it's online sales. Also, as you so eloquently stated, the pet stores are sometimes more knowledgable than Wal-Mart. I agree to a point, but keep in mind, we all see loads of terrible advice on these forums, even from local fish stores. The people at Wal-Mart are simply ignorant. Many times they will tell you so, however, so I always appreciate that.

PS: This is a work of satire. Innacuracies, while not made intentionally, will most certainly be claimed to have been by the author. Therefore, no need to complain!
