Planting

I have thought about doing a planted tank, but I am taking it slowly. I just added two more aquarium grade flourescents bring the total light over the 2 watts per gallon recomendation but I still haven't built a co2 chamber yet, so I haven't planted anything yet. Would I need to change my rocky bottom to another substrate? Thank you everyone for your comments and help. I love this site.

I have started to do some planting so I wanted to show off. Also you just have to love pictures of gouramis. Their color is only rivaled by discus imo. They all play so nice together.
