My Grandmother is Ill

A chest tube has been inserted and a ventilator was AGAIN mentioned. She has AGAIN refused the ventilator. Is it wrong of me to wish her suffering to be over?
It is not wrong of you at all. It is a loving and compassionate wish and one I share with you. I hope she passes peacefully in her sleep.

She has been placed on Morphine but they are saying it is affecting her heart problems and may have to take her off it.
I've been very moved by reading through this thread, and, petluvr, I would like to say my thoughts are with you and your grandmother. It's not wrong to feel whatever you're feeling - I'm sure you love her very much.
im sorry for your suffering, i cared for my grandmother of 91 years for a year until she pasted on april 8th. it is hard but you hate to see them suffer. i understand your pain and wanting hers to be over, you are not wrong for this.

Petluvr, I went through this with my mother many, many years ago. When she finally passed, it was such a relief but only because her suffering was over. I missed her terribly and still do today, but I've never regretted that her suffering ended. You and your granny and all your family are in my prayers.
Her left lung has again collapsed and the doctors say it is shot. Her oxygen level is down to 78% and her heart rate is EXTREMELY low. The doctors tell us she is basically being kept comfortable now.
I wish her comfort and loving care. I've said it before and I'll tell you again, I admire her spunk!
My dear sweet grandmother passed today. Thank you to all who sent up a prayer or thought for her.
