My guppies keep dying :(

Ok so about 1 and a half weeks ago I got three guppies, one male two female, and my sister got one of each. Well in the past two days my sisters has died. While she was in my tank and my yougest female has also died. Both of which were pregnant. My male and oldest female is still alive as is rest of my fish. I woke up and both were behind breeder net. So what killed them? My tank is around 73 degrees and the ph is 7.4
 
how long has your tank been set-up? do you have a complete water test kit? Are they the only fish in the tank? Give us some more info and maybe we can help. sorry for the loss anyhow.
 
Well thanks for your condolences. No I do not have a master test yet. ON SHOPPING LIST. To prove it I could tell you what kind I am getting. My tank has been set up for about 3 weeks now. They are not the only fish in the tank. There is a platy, pleco neons, and a gouramis.
 
How often are you doing water changes and how much?
You are doing a fishy cycle so you should be doing daily water changes.
A test kit is ESSENTIAL and should have been one of the first things you bought.
 
Sorry, but I do bi weekly water changes, I have 4 neon tetras, 1 platy 2 guppies left, 1 gouramis, 1 pleco and smoe snails
 
No need to be sorry but i would up your water changes to every day until you have finshed your cycle then do them once a week.
 
The pleco gives of too much ammonia and will need a much bigger tank, even if it is a B/N Pleco, but if I remember your other 10 gallon thread, it is a common. Your tank is not cycled either, causing the guppies to die.

Test kits are a must when setting up a tank. Kits should be gotten BEFORE any other purchases including fish. You can not effectively cycle a tank with out knowing what the water parameters are. You also need them to begin diagnosing health problems including death of the fish.

As hard as it is to lose fish, hopefully you will obtain a kit or have your water tested at a LFS. Sorry for your loss. Not all deaths are preventable but the water quality related deaths are..

PLEASE everyone, get a test kit if you don't already have one. Get something. Even if it only a 3 test kit (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.)
