My Heater

how old is the heater? Are you sure there's not a leak in it? I would replace it just to be safe.......that happened to me once and I replced it and no, I didn't get electrocuted so you're ok there I think.....unplug it first......

That's not good...

like little bubbles ?

I have 2 submersable heaters
both of them stealth excellent
underwater heater you can hide
them under some rocks and you
hardly knowthat the heater is there
i have one that is just sticking to the
side of the tank. I get condensation
on that one as well like little bubbles
attached to the heater its normal
i guess and it went away for me
after a while it didnt hurt the fishies though

I get the same thing on my "Thermal Pre-Set Heater". Condensation collects around the light. But only during fall/winter. I just assume it's from the heater being on more often, heat from the light perhaps?!. It doesn't help that the room the tank is in is around 65 and the heater is set for 80.

It's been that way for a few years, and I've been meaning to replace it. This thread just gave me a reminder.

What kind of heater is it? If it's a tronic, i know that if there is a leak, it just won't ever go on.

I think this will get moved to the equipment board.

Could you share with us the basis for this? I've never heard that claim for Tronics before.... how did you find that out?

Thanks,
Jim
