in my area you can find listings of when public lakes are stocked with fish. so if u time i right you can really increase your girls chances of catching something, i second the live bait comment. have your girls catch insects where your fishing if what you brought isnt working, and try to see with what and where others fish in your area.

unfortunately fishing is out for the moment. My area got hit hard by floods. Most every place that I have heard about to go fishing is still underwater and not accessible. Maybe next weekend things will be better under control.
