My Knight Gobies spawned!

OK, my knight goby spawned last night, and I think it has got to do with their diet. I fed my knight gobies spirulina once a week a few weeks ago for a few weeks (that's some tongue twister), and that's when the female's belly swollen up with eggs, and they started their spawning fiesta. I stopped feeding them spirulina a few weeks ago, and they stopped spawning, but the female's belly seemed to continue to be swollen with eggs. I fed them spirulina last Tuesday, and they spawned last night ... could spirulina be the key to spawning?

Start keeping a calendar of when they spawn. When I had a spawning pair, they spawned once a month like clockwork. One of their favorite foods was OSI's spirulina flakes, which also have krill in them, so I'm not ruling out the spirulina, either.

I tried, several times, to rear the fry. It ain't easy. I had them in a 5g fry tank with a sponge filter. Longest I got them to survive was five days. The gobies themselves will eat the fry -- especially the male, who hung out in the barnacle where they spawned, fanning the eggs, the entire time they were in there. Even when I target fed him, he'd snarf the fry as soon as they hatched.
