My Low Light 10 Gallon

Hello there everyone. I just started my first planted tank but before I jump to it, I'll give you all the tank specs first.

10 Gallon Standard Tank
3-D Custom Styrofoam Background
2x 10watt CFL's (full spectrum)
Whisper 10 Filter (Sucks but I figure the plants will help)

Stocking:
-As for now I have about 15 convict fry.
-Looking for a pair of Bumblebee Gobies

Plants:
2x Anubias Plants
More to come.... Probably tomorrow.

I built this tank a while back hoping that I would be able to sell it, but instead, I am going to keep it. Please let me know what you think of the tank thus far. I was thinking of leaving out the driftwood and doing more rocks but I am unsure. I would also like a plant that would make for a nice carpetting effect across the tank floor. Any suggestions?

I am running just the lights, no ferts or co2 so please keep this in mind if you have suggestions for plants. Thanks.

from what ive heard, it is hard to get a carpet of any plant in a low light setup. However, plenty of mosses grow in low light conditions, so you could look into java moss, or maybe fire moss. That background looks SWEET
 
i think it looks great the way it is. i've suggested a background around here a couple times and think i've been blown off mostly. oh well my next tank is getting one. :D my crabitat already has one... it was a broken tank salvaged. :)

i'd like to see some moss hanging off that wall. some pelia and java ferns wouldn't look too bad if done right either imo. crypts are a definite option. there are quite a few other anubias also if you wanted the tank to look uniform.

EDIT: mini pellia would look great creeping up that wall.

I am glad that you all like how the tank looks. I figured its something out of the ordinary. I am going to be getting some fish and some more plants saturday morning.... I might even get some tomorrow. Any suggestions? I want to do something a little out of the ordinary. I really like the julli cories though, would a group of 3 be alright?

There is actually no concrete. If you melt the styro and then seal it with drylok you can get the desired effect without the hassle. I just silicone the final product to the back of the tank.
 
i think the tank looks great and there is definitely alot that can be done with it

now for your cory choice i don't know how well they would like being in a group of only 3 and 6 would be alot for that tank may i suggest one of the dwarf cory species ei. habrosus cory they are a small cory that you could easily fit 6 of them in the tank and they have a nice look to them
