my mudskipper is puffing his cheeks

when ever he goes on land he puffs his cheeks out it looks adorable though. but is this normal.
 
He carries water in his cheeks to breathe through and keep his gills wet.
 
Wow, that is so cool..... I never knew that.
 
Yes, they have small sacs behind their eyes that they can fill with water, which makes their faces look all puffed up. they use this to keep their gill tissue and eyes wet when they are out of water, like Jacki said.
 
Yeah, it's perfectly normal.
Where is everyone getting their mudskippers?
 
I got mine locally in San Diego.
