i just put in all my fishes in today and im sooo happy

- angel fish
- algae eater (i think thats what its called..its a long black fish thigny)
- 2 african dwarf frogs
- 3 zebra danions
- male betta

i was worried about putting my betta in, but for now it seems fine. i watched it for about an hour and no aggression yet! ill check tommorow to see if any fins have been nipped! or fish been killed xD

some questions..
i have the power wisper filter and i think the filter might be a bit too strong for the angel and betta. they dont seem to mind but sometimes it looks like they struggle. the heater and filter are boht on the left and the angel and betta like to hang out on the right. the betta likes flying to the other side of the tank and back thouhg so i dont think he minds to filter too much. what are your thoguhts?

alot of flakes fall to the grown never to be touched! how fast do these rot?

hmm thats all i can think of right now, but i know i have more!! ill try to post again

bettas likes the calm water i think..

Angels won't do well in a 10 gallon tank, and with a tank that small, the current will do more harm than good for it. A 10 gallon tank is not tall enough for the fins to grow out correctly.

a pleco has no business in a 10G tank (algae eater) matey.

an angel has no business in a 10G tank.

you need to do some reading like I did, mate. You seem very confused or your trying to get a rise outta people on here. Might be one of them there trolls searchin' around. You Ain't Gonna Get me treaaye.

Now the morale must pick up.

did you put all those fishies in at once??? If this is an uncycled tank be prepared to do very frequent water changes or have a huge ammonia shock, this is why most people add fish to there aquariums slowly...

the tank has been cycled and the betta and angel fish seem to be doing fine together.

new concerns...ADF are not eating the bloodworms, they dont really do anything acually, juts keep finding new hiding spots

i thoguht the pleco was kinda big...but the guy at the store (seemed really nice and knowledgable) swore it woudl go great in my tank. i bought the smallest angel and pleco they had..angel is tiny and pleco is about 1 1/2 inch. the pleco just sits there too, not sure hwo to feed it. the guy said hell just find his food on the floor.

now my biggest worry: my betta seems to have black stuff under his gills...im not sure if it was there before nor not i never really saw it under proper lighting until now. does anyone know what this is? is it bad? how do i fix it.. thanks

Just keep an eye on it for now Bhanzo. It may just be part of his gill. You don't want to treat for something if you don't really know what it is, or if it's anything at all.

Check it out everyday, and if you see no change and the fish seems healthy and is eating well, than I wouldn't worry about it.

Hope all works out with your tank ! You'll have to move out the angel and the pleco at some point...but enjoy them for now while they're small. When you have to remove them you can bring them back to the store and exchange them for something more suitable for a 10. MOst lfs will accomodate such exchanges.

All the best to you in your new hobby ! :)
