my new 30 gallon setup

Okay I just moved my 30 gallon tall tank down stairs. I put my fish from my 10 gallon tank to my 30 gallon tall tank. All the fish are doing fine. All I have to do is get a thermometer I forgot to get that when I got the heater.
I've only got 7 fish in the tank so it looks so empty right now lol.
I'm going to wait for about a week or two and get a few more fish. Probably only 2 or 3 at first. I want to get some angelfish and a few more bleeding heart tetras and harlequin rasabora.
All I have in the tank right now are:
2 Harlequin Rasaboras
2 Bleeding Heart Tetras
1 platy
1 flame dwarf gourami
1 rubber lipped pleco
Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to have two types of schooling fish. Which are the bleeding hearts and harlequin rasaboras.
How many fish are in a group? Will three bleeding heart and three harlequin rasaboras be enough to be a group?
 
i'm just curious, has this tank been cycled yet? If I were getting more more fish i would definitly have at least 6 of the tetras and rasboras (or as many as you can put in that size tank). The more the better, as they will school much better in higher numbers ;). Good luck.

What's the floor space of a 30 tall? It may not be big enough for angels, and it's definetely not big enough for more than 1 or 2 going by just gallonage.
 
I agree with dorkfish., I would not go with Angels. The space would be okay maybe for one Angel, but not since you have the Gourami. Many times those 2 dont get along. I would get more of your schooliing fish. It will fill up the tank and make everyone happier in the long run.
 
I was only planning to get one angelfish. My tank is 24 inches long, and 12 and a half inches wide. I have to measure the height though.
I'm not planning to get anymore fish for a while. I had to restart the tank over since I moved it. Before I moved the tank it was up and running for over a year. I left the gravel in the tank and some water in it.
I'd really like to get an angel fish. I don't want to have just the regualr community fish. You know the platies, mollies, and tetras. I'd like more of a vartiety and I've always liked Angelfish. Before I only had a 10 gallon which I know is too small for them. If the dwarf gourami causes trouble I could always move him into my 10 gallon. But again I plan on recycling both tanks before I add any more fish.
 
Just so you know, the Angel might go after your smaller community fish once it grows up. I have a full grown Angel that I tried putting in my 120 community tank and she would not stop going after my zebra danios. I had to remove her into a QT tank andset up a 40 gallon high for just her. I had Dwarf Gourami in with her, but she wasn't nice to him either. So, just be careful with those angels. They arent really community fish.

PS. I just saw your tank dimensions. A 12*24 tank is a 20 gallon, not a 30. Then I really would stress not to get an Angel. That is really pushing it on tank size, and with a Gourami, there will be probelms.

if things go bad you can try one trick i heard where you take the angel out ... redesign the aquascape .. put the new fish in .. then add the angel again.

I have never owned cichlids however. My mother always had angels but I always preferred schooling fish like tetra.

how big do those plecos get
