My new 5' tank

Hi all ! Me again, just thought I'd show you my new 60"x22"x18" tank. Er, looks a bit bare at the moment, though I now have a dark blue background up, and all the filters/lights/heaters etc hooked up.

Am currently doing the VERY laborious and slow job of waiting for the RO unit to eventually turn out enough water to fill it !! About 1/2 way there so far, with about 40 UK gallons ...

God I can't wait to get something IN there ! Even if it's just coral gravel .... no, no ! Must be patient !

(oh, quick question while I'm on, I've just put a small Aquaclear 301 powerhead in to circulate the water and start mixing the salt, and it's flipping noisy ! Kind of rattly / hummy. Have taken it apart and it seems okay ... surely they aren't supposed to be this noisy are they ?! Do they get quieter ? I've got a medium sized Fluval in my 20 gal trop tank and it's barely audiable ... the 301 competes with the telly !)

My AC 301 is close to silent. You sure it's not up against something?

By the way, the tank is beautiful, but your aquascaping is rather dull:D

mogurnda, it's noisy even when I suspend it freely in mid water ... must be a faulty unit.

What do you mean ?!? I think it's the perfect minimalist tank ! AND it's dead cheap on fish ..... ;)

(the photo was taken right after the tank had been dumped in position)

Is it pulling any oxygen? Try flipping it around a few times to remove any bubbles that may be trapped inside--this will make them rather noisy.
