It is just a term for a fish that goes back and forth, back and forth over and over again. Some people put them in tanks with more aggressive fish to give them a distraction. I have 3 in a 55, had 6 but lost a couple due to old age. I am not going to replace them as I prefer the types of fish in schools that are more of an all over range fish, or swim over larger areas, not just towards the top. I love my serpae tetras, I also have Bleeding heart tetras. Usually fin nippers do best in a larger school of their own and then the aggression is decreased. The barbs would do best in a school of 6 or more. I am excited for you, what fun stocking a tank! So many choices! :look:
