I have already natruel gravel but i didnt know wheather to have drift wood in there or rock? I have more questiones but i cant think of them right now, il get some pics too soon. Im so chuffed! :D:D

Thanks

Hi,

I like both driftwood/bogwood and rock, but IMO bogwood/driftwood is much nicer looking. It looks like your in the Amazon and gives great hiding places for fish such as Cories.

I second the driftwood. It looks much more natural and gives your inhabitants a natural hiding spot that they would have in the wild. Much more comforting to the fish IME.

really? I have my big plastic rock cave, and it doesn't detract form the natural beauty of my aquarium at all and the pleco loves the deep crannies it has.

I don't really think fish give a crap what you put in the tank, as long as it helps them set up their little territories and provides shelter if needed. It's all about personal tastes. I have 3 tanks, one is planted with driftwood and natural looking gravel, another with white gravel, live plants and a ceramic pot, and the other with white and black gravel with fake plants. The fish all seem fine either way.

Let us see how it comes out!

I'd say start with the driftwood; you get more bang for your buck, especially if you tie some Java fern or something to it. You can always add some rocks later on.

I much prefer natural looking aquariums but I have a plastic "rock" cave in one of my 20's that I inherited. It looks fine, especially with some plants around/on it. Thing is the real thing is a lot cheaper! lol

The tank came with a neon castle and, yes, a Fairly Oddparents bobblehead. As well as a generous supply of old fish poop. So the cave was actually a pleasant surprise.

Hi,

Yep, really. For my Cories it gives them great oddball hiding places and nucks and cranies for them to hide in, and its soft on their whiskers so they love cleaning it.
