My new BABY!! Xingu Royal

Hi theres just one pic but hes so cute..actually it cause i dont know how to sex this particular type. If anyone out there has any experience with this type of pleco and L number please feel free to give me any tips that will make his new home the best

also, I have a Dull Eyed Royal (L-191) And for him, I provide him with plenty of wood to graze on, shelter, and a variety diet. Im not sure if both types of Royals have the same eating habbits or not, but mine prefers a nice slice of cucumber, and usually stays away from the algae wafers.

beautiful fish! i have a Xingu royal as well, and he spends most of his time eating driftwood (lots of "sawdust" present in the tank). he also likes zucchini skin and occasionally shrimp pellets. he would eat snails when i had them. . . but he killed them all by rasping through the shell and sucking the snails out. they can't be sexed until they are much older - the males develop a bunch of spines on each side of the head behind the gills. they are shed occasionally as well, so males won't have them all the time.
