Having multiple tanks for multiple animals can be frustrating sometimes. Having one tank with multiple animals can also be an arduous task. If you pick and choose tank mates carefully though, you may never have a problem.
I've always wanted a paludarium. So the other day while I was looking at my 50 gallon which I was going to use an algae scrubber/sump/whatever, I decided to do something else that day. I made this for my green tree frogs and blackworms, but it also houses some freshwater creatures. The water, measuring from the substrate up is approximately 10 gallons right now of livable water space. I will be removing substrate though to make more water space upwards of 15ish gallons.
Before putting them in here, I have NEVER heard them chirp so loud or long. They must be happy in their new homes! The water has a ton of floating plants, so the frogs, if they happen to fall in wont have to swim to safety. Tons of options for getting out of the water safely, and tons of area for climbing around. I have a lot of manzanita and fake vines in there for them. Also a separate water dish on the land portion which is a little hidden from all the plants!
The inhabitants are:
5 x Pacific green tree frogs
1 x Mystery snail
1 x African dwarf frog
1bazillion x california blackworms
Frog sitting on some java moss
My best effort of an inside the tank shot lol
Another try
another frog
The two frogs posted were just added yesterday.
