I just recieved a bubble wall this xmas and it's about 1.5 feet long! :D Just wondering should I turn this off when it's night time?
Does a air stone or bubble wall bother the fish if it's on 24/7. The wall is in a 33 gallon small cichlid tank.

Thanks for your time.

hmm never really thought about it, but I leave mine on all the time. The fish really seem to enjoy it. They like to get down at the bottom of the bubbles and play dead then let the bubbles carry them to the top of the water :)

Some planted tank folk run bubble wands at night to get rid of extra CO2 when the plants aren't using it. If the CO2 is running all the time, the pH will drop at night when there isn't any photosynthesis going on. That might be what you're thinking of. If thats not what you're using it for then, yes, you can run it all the time.

We have a 23" wall in our 55 that is on the same timer as the lights, so it turns off and on with the lights. The fish seem to like it and our cories love to play in it.

We also have a 12" wall in our 29g that is on all the time.

BTW- I've found that placing the air pump on a folded washcloth reduces noise/vibrations considerably.

I have all 3 of my tanks using a bubble wall. On 24/7 for about a year now.. no probelms yet.. you do have to clean the bubble tubes often though..as time passes...the bubble wall will become clogged..
