My New Pleco

Right now he is in a 50 gallon. Is that too small?? I have come to the conclusion that people at the LFS are more interested in making a sell then to worry about the life of the fish that they are selling.

And that is a hard but valuable lesson to learn.

I don't think thats a gibbiceps, they usually have the leopard-spot pattern. Most likely any of several species sold as "common plecos", most of which will get from 12-24" and are absolute waste machines after they hit about 6-8". Within a day after gravel vac'ing my old tank, I would have piles of pleco poo in the corner from my 10" guy, it was crazy.

What other plecos would you suggest? I got him Thurs and I swear everytime I look in there at him/her it has a trail of poop behind him.

Ever since I got bristlenose, they are my favorite. Great algae eaters, and only get about 4-5".

That pleco looks crazy. I had to google it.
