My new RCS tank !!

Hy guys.....wow, I've been waiting for this moment like forever......it's only been two weeks since I started the cycle(finished now) but now I'm so happy......today I received my 120 RCS(35 CAD, ship incl) !!!!

Here is their new 15 gal home and here are some questions:
1. Should I add one fish, and if so, would a male betta be Ok ?!!?
2. Should I move some of the plants to the big tank, when I'll decide to start it ?!?!
3. Do you like my setup

?!?!(don't mind the pantyhose inside...it's filled with floss so I can seed the 50 gal tank)

I know you're gonna say that most of the fish can/will eat the fry but I was thinking of going to the LFS and choosing a calm/peaceful male betta(they keep them separated)...what do you think ?!?!

PS: will add more pics after I drop them in the tank !!!

That's a good-looking tank :) I'm going to tell you what you already know: any beta may munch on your shrimp. Some won't, some will, some will only eat little ones, and there's likely no way to tell, apart from putting it in the tank with your shrimp.

I would skip the fish, at least for a while, or add some otos - they're quite shrimp-safe. If you have even mildly-predatory fish in your tank you'll never see your shrimp, especially with the plants you have in there.
 
Yeah, gorgeous tank!

I'd let it go shrimp only for a few months...let the little guys get comfy and established. Then you can try adding a fish or two. Think of it this way...if for some reason the setup isn't shrimp friendly, such as water issues of some sort, or maybe inexperience on your part, you may not know it if you add a fish. You might think the fish is killing off the shrimp. Make sure everything is running along smooth, and if your tank does well and the shrimp multiply without issue, then you can add with confidence. If a problem develops after you add a fish, then you know who the culprit is.

great advice!

with my betta.. i tested him for over a month with just ghost shrimp.. that's how i know he's okay with them.. HOWEVER!!! the ghost shrimp i have are big! and cherry shrimp are TINY!!.. i wouldn't try it with cherries, unless it's an adult shrimp only sort of thing :)
 
Gorgeous tank!!! Very nice. :) Good luck with the shrimps. Please keep us updated and post pics when the cherries color up. ;) Thanks for sharing.

As a fellow Canadian, I'm curious as to where you ordered your shrimp from.
 
Very nice tank! I think your shrimps will be very happy there! I am glad to see that you are keeping it a shrimp only tank for the time being!
